On a land of 5000 m2 in the popular resort of Bnaider in kuwait, the clients approached M2H Studio to propose the design of a family compound which would accommodate them, their 3 sons and daughter. The main challenge was to grant all concerned parties a sense of independence and privacy while still maintaining a close-knit family friendly environment. The designer decided to locate the parents’ wings on the site’s declined level close to the sea, while the children’s compact duplexes would rest at the higher street level. Nestled in between the parents’ private and public wings would be an open pool and spacious landscaped court overlooking the sea. All accommodations would share the views of this multi-functional, dynamic, entertainment space. A light-weight shading structure extends on top of the lower level providing sufficient area for shaded seating and circulation.
