Travertine House

Travertine Villa brings together elements from classical design with modern. The result is an exciting merge between the two design approaches. The use of natural travertine stone was very suited to the project due to the textural richness of the stone and bold horizontal grain lines reflecting a modern look. The wall thickness were increased above the normal to give the stone a more monolithic heavy feel, which is contrasting nicely with the elegant floor to ceiling french windows.

The courtyard was placed in the basement level in which a natural garden is located with built-in seating and wooden pergolas for shading. In addition, an indoor pool is designed with barrel vault ceilings and dramatic lighting as a stunning view for the grand guest reception.

While the built up-area of the villa is large, the architects made sure to design rooms with consideration to human proportions and stylish placement of furniture so that the expansive spaces do not feel overwhelming to the occupants but rather inviting and filled with light and warmth.
